Bwindi Impenetrable Forest- the rainforest extends over a series of steep ridges in the Virunga Volcanoes mountain range. Due to its ecological uniqueness and natural beauty it was declared a UNESCO World heritage site. It is home to an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes.

Queen Elizabeth National Park- famous for “The Tree Climbing Lions of Ishasha”. An exceptional experience to spot many of them sleeping up on the Acacia and fig trees. It is supposed that this type of lions climb trees as a way of protecting themselves against the numerous biting tsetse flies on the ground level, whereas other people claim the they actually climb into the branches to escape from the heat on the ground and enjoy the cool breeze; nonetheless the reason why they climb up into the tree branches remains unknown.
